0:40.0	and today we are covering all the rest of First Samuel.
0:44.0	Last week, we covered Ruth and the first seven chapters of First Samuel,
0:47.0	where we met Hannah and the boy Samuel and Eli and his wicked sons.
0:51.0	We had the strange chapters about Golden Ema Rods and Raiders of the Lost Ark.
0:56.0	If you didn't finish last week's material, it gets pretty wild by the end.
0:59.0	But today, we'll pick up where we left off in First Samuel chapter 8,
1:03.0	which is an all-important chapter, especially for any parent or grandparent out there,
1:08.0	that has had to worry about children or loved ones making decisions they don't agree with.
1:13.0	And that probably applies to all of us.
1:15.0	That's First Samuel chapter 8, so we'll start right off the bat with something really, really important.
1:21.0	And from there, we will spend time with Samuel and with Saul.
1:25.0	We will, about a halfway point today, we'll meet David and Goliath, one of everyone's favorite stories.
1:32.0	We'll go far beyond the Veggie Tale, however, and stick to the text and see some detail
1:37.0	that perhaps we've always missed in the past.
1:39.0	And then the second half of today's material will cover some incredible stories
1:44.0	about the downfall of Saul and the rise of David.
