Here on searchlight we are looking at a study in contrast. It is a contrast between two kings.

Saul, a king

king who was on his way down and David a king who was on his way up.

On our last program John showed us an interesting difference between the two.

Saul was focused on the carnal and temporal,

and this was pulling him down,

and in his hand was a spear that he threw at David.

David was spiritual and trusting in God and was simply ducking Saul's

spear and not throwing them back. This is an important lesson for us that John will

explain further in our teaching today.
