We have a very special guest today, Christopher or Chris Darden, whichever you prefer. You may know Mr. Darden

from his time as co-prosecutor in the O.J. Simpson case, one of the most explosive trials

in the history of the United States. But Mr. Darden also worked in the

LA County District Attorney's Office for 15 years. He was a commentator for court

TV, CNBC, CNN, and he became a law professor at South Western University, as well as an author.

Chris is now running for a seat on the Los Angeles County Superior Court judge this coming election.

So we're gonna dig into that.

But in short, Chris Darden is inextricably linked

to the modern history of Los Angeles.

And we're gonna discuss all of that from his origin story to his

Well listen I like to start with your origin story now as many people dare I say most people in Los Angeles are, you're a transplant.

You come from Richmond, is that correct?

Richmond, California, I come from the rich.

I want to know about Richmond. It's a place now I had spent a lot of time in

Northern California, Davis, Berkeley, Oakland, San Francisco, but not as familiar with Richmond. Tell me about Richmond.

Well Richmond is on the east side of

the bay just up the freeway from Berkeley which is just up the freeway from

Oakland. It's a working-class town. It's diverse. It's always been, well not always, but it's been diverse
