Summary

The Pop Apologists reunite after four long years to relaunch the podcast that they frantically deleted in 2016 after Deb (Lauren & Chan’s mom) found out about it. Fast forward to 2020 and the gals, finally paying for their own cell phone bills and lives, reunite to bring back the pod, unafraid of their T-Mobile plans being cancelled as retribution for bringing back the pod their mom calls “absolutely so embarrassing for our family.” Lauren shares how in the past four years she has risen from unemployed poet to illustrious business success as an esteemed executive assistant, only to be laid off due to COVID. Chan shares how life has brought her to sunny Los Angeles, CA, and that – unlike Lauren – she is not only fully employed but also being recruited by Big Tech. Meggan discusses her move from Provo, UT to the decidedly more urbane, liberal, and cool Salt Lake City. Tune in to hear her discuss how life is going working for an event production company during a global pandemic. 🤪 Updates aside, the gals gab about celeb & reality tv gossip of the week: - Kristin Cavallari escaping to a “deserted island” aka the Bahamas. - Pink, Tom Hanks & Rita Wilson contracting Covid - Morgan Stewart dating Dr. Phil’s son - Who would you rather, Chris or Andrew Cuomo? - Vanderpump Rules: Will Stassi & Beaux make it? - Kim Kardashian’s evolving hairstyles Blueberries Learn more about your ad choices. Nothing matters. For once in this month in 2020, everything feels right. Yeah, I think what people haven't been needing right now isn't PPE. It's not widespread testing or a vaccine or a cure. It's this podcast to relaunch.

0:34.3

And that's a strong statement because you have taken a strong social media stance against, well,

0:39.4

for coronavirus awareness.

0:41.4

I haven't taken a strong stance for coronavirus just for the record.

0:44.8

For coronavirus.

0:46.8

Lauren, how does it feel to be, you know, on the front lines of coronavirus?

0:52.1

I mean, we broke the story essentially to North America.

0:55.2

I was a full week behind everyone else in understanding of what this would do.

1:00.5

Yeah, not behind. No, but you were in like in front of everyone. Yeah, you're right. Spatial things are tough for me. But I was ahead of the curve. Let's just go there at least a week, maybe a week and a half, and because of how panicked the people I was following were about this,

1:18.0

and the relative calm environment I was in while I was reading these articles and these tweets by these really kind of

1:25.4

esteemed people I felt profoundly nervous and like I was living in some sort of

1:31.5

like alternative universe where yeah I just felt I just

1:35.2

felt really really freaked out and so I did take to my Instagram story I don't know if anyone

1:40.0

knows this I have a solid two hundred and like 275 followers on Instagram so I felt like the best thing for me to do

1:46.2

would just be to repost all these tweets on my Instagram.

1:50.8

Sure. I felt it helpful. Yeah, your Instagram story is now very triggering for me. Every time I see that you've posted something new, my heart starts to pick up and my palms start to sweat. And yeah, I actually had to mute you at one point,

2:04.7

but I've since unmuted you because it turns out
