All right, let's get started. First Kings, chapters 9 and 10. We're going to do two chapters again tonight.

They are not as long and they are also not as detailed as chapters seven and eight were.

Really looking forward to what the Lord has for us tonight in His Word so

hoping you're already there and if so why don't we pray the last God's

blessing on our time together in His Word. Loving Heavenly Father we're here tonight because we're hungry and we're thirsty for you.

And we know, Lord, that only you can satiate the hunger and the thirst in our souls.

So we'll fill us up tonight and minister to us tonight. Through your word,

we pray in Jesus' name. Amen. All right, let's just jump in. Verse one, First Kings chapter 9.

Solomon has just finished this celebration and dedication of the newly

completed temple. And we read verse 1 and it came to pass when Solomon had finished building

the house of the Lord and the king's house and all Solomon's desire which he wanted to do

that the Lord appeared to Solomon the second time as he had appeared to him at Gibbon.

And the Lord said to him, verse three, I have heard your prayer and your supplication that you have made before me. I have consecrated this house which

you have built to put my name there forever and my eyes and my heart will be there perpetually.

Now verse 4, if you walk before me as your father David walked in integrity of heart and in uprightness

to do according to all I have commanded you and if you keep my statutes and my judgments, then

verse 5, I will establish the throne of your kingdom over Israel forever

as I promised David your father saying you shall not fail to have a man on the throne of Israel

but verse 6 if you or your sons at all turn from following me and do not keep

my commandments and my statutes which I have set before you, but go and serve other gods

and worship them, then I will cut off Israel from the land which I have given them and this

house which I have consecrated for my name I will cast out of my sight. Israel will be
