kings of Israel and Judah with 1st Kings 22.

Welcome to the Bible study podcast. I'm your host, Chris Christensen. Remember in this story of the kings of

Israel and Judah, we've been spending a lot of time on Israel and spending a lot of time on Ahab and his

relationship with various prophets. And we get another one of those today. And last week we had

Ahab who looked over at one of his neighbors,

saw this vineyard and thought, gee, that would be nice for a vegetable garden, and made a

reasonable offer, and then ended up letting his wife go off and have this person falsely accused

and murdered. And the prophets told him at that point

that his kingdom would end and that he would be killed and eaten by dogs and things like

that. Not good news. And today we get Micaiah prophecies against Dehab.

For three years, there was no war between Aram and Israel.

But in the third year, Jehoshaphat, king of Judah, went down to see the king of Israel.

The king of Israel said to his officials,

Don't you know that Ramath Gilead belongs to us? And yet we are doing nothing to retake it from the king of

Aram? So he asked Jehoshaphat, will you go with me to fight against Ramoth Gilead?

Jehoshaphat replied to the king of Israel, I am as you are, my people as your people, my horses

as your horses. But Jehosephat also said to the King of Israel,

first seek the counsel of the Lord. So the King of Israel brought together the prophets about 400

men and asked them, shall I go to war against Rameth Gilead, or shall I refrain? Go, they answered,

for the Lord will give it into the king's hand. But Jehoshaphat asked,

Is there no longer a prophet of the Lord here whom we can inquire of? The king of Israel answered
