I mean, this is not the posture that Ahab should be taking toward this wicked king who has

been making war against the people of God, and he's identifying him as a brother.

The whole point of this battle was to bring Ahab to a place of confessing that Yahweh is God,

and that we need to follow him and

we need to strengthen ourselves in the Lord and do what he says. And now he's...

Jim Hamilton. Okay, so guys, we are in First Kings 20. It's 43 verses. And it's got some

twists and turns. It's got sort. I mean, it's got some twists and turns.

It's got sort of a long summary of a battle between King Ahab, who we've already met,

and this king of Syria, whom we are about to meet Ben Haddad.

And so, again, I think we would have expected, if we were just reading for the first time,

First Kings, you know, we would

hear that prophecy about what Elijah is going to do with with Jehu, et cetera, et cetera,

with this new king. What's his name, Hazel, Hazael of Syria? I think we would probably

think, okay, well, that's what's going to happen next. Elijah and Elijah are going to team up to

do that. Instead, as we alluded to in the last episode,

Elijah and Elijah are sort of receding to the background
