Last episode in the days of Elijah's lives, I mean the days of our lives, I mean the Bible Book Club.

Susan got, she took some artistic liberties with creating her angel movie. And this week we're going to dial it back. Yeah, I promise. I promise. We're going to just stick to the text because we know that's why you guys are all here. We are reading every word of the Bible and you're reading along with us. Every once in all I have to get it done with fun. And we love that about you season.

So last time in chapter 18, the importance of the Omri dynasty was established.

So Elijah recruited Obadiah and then Elijah confronted Ahab.

There was this showdown between Elijah and the 450 prophets of Bail on Mount Caramel.

Elijah challenged the Israelites then to choose who they would follow God or Bail.

They were silent.

Then Elijah laid out the rules for the battle to prove who was the one true God.

The 450 prophets were embarrassingly unsuccessful in getting Bail to show up, despite a lot of dancing

and calling bail and as much noise as possible that they were making. Elijah kicked the competition

up by dousing his sacrifice in water. And then all he did was pray. And the people had no choice

then but to believe. Elijah took control and commanded the Israelites to seize and kill the 450 prophets. Then Elijah falls to his knees, face to the ground, and waits. He waits for God's mercy in the form of rain to end the drought. Well, after asking his servant seven times if he sees anything, the servant finally reports,

there's a cloud.

The final verse of chapter 8, verse 46, said this.

The power of the Lord came on Elijah and tucking his cloak into his belt, he ran ahead

of Ahab all the way to Jesreal. So last episode, I didn't have
