With that, let's get into the word. Tonight, First Kings chapter 13, we're just going to take

one chapter again tonight. When we can, we'll do two chapters. I do want to, I don't want to hurry

through, but I do want to get to Chronicles because Samuel King's Chronicles, they're just amongst the most interesting

and powerful books in all the Bible.

Hey, why don't we pray?

Good idea.

Loving Heavenly Father, we are so thankful to you for your word and we're really looking

forward tonight to our time together in your word.

And Lord, we're so thankful that we have this beautiful building to meet in on Thursday nights and Lord we just really

look forward to coming here and putting aside all the cares and the affairs of

the week and all the busyness of the day and and just focusing our attention upon

you and your word and that which you would desire to minister

to us in and through your word. So Lord, we want to give you our undivided attention tonight.

And as we do, we just want to invite you to speak into our lives. And when you do, Lord,

do it very clearly and personally that we

might hear and heed your word in Jesus name amen all right let's jump in

verse one pardon me and behold a man of God went from Judah to Betel by the word of the Lord,

and Jeroboam stood by the altar to burn incense. Then he cried out against the altar,

verse 2, by the word of the Lord, and said, O altar, alter, thus says the Lord, behold, a child, Josiah

by name shall be born to the house of David and on you he shall sacrifice the priests

of the high places who burn incense on you and men's bones shall be burned on you.

Wow, we're off to a great start here.
