Welcome to the Bible Study. I'm Stephen Lawson, president of One Passion Ministries.

And each week I will teach verse by verse through the passage of scripture so that you can better understand the word of God

and put it into practice in your life. Join me now as we look together into this

section of the Bible. So it's so good to see I've been missing the men's study. It's just good to see some

men here. So we're going to be stepping back into the book of 1st John. We've been in a verse by verse study.

John, as you know, we stepped out shortly to look at the, really, the doctrine of conversion and at some point we'll step back into that

but I want to get back into first John with you but before I do I just need I've been

asked to make mention of something that we've just started at one passion

and I'm just going to hold this up it's called the Expositors Academy and what I've done is I have recorded, been videoed doing 27 sessions on the history of preaching,

how to put a sermon together, what is an expository sermon, and to be a part

of the academy, they're reading assignments, they're written assignments, and we will also critique you preaching.

So this is not for everybody but there are what I want to do is be a part of raising up a new generation of Bible preachers.

And I was even contacted yesterday.

Someone saw this down in Brazil, a group of pastors.

And so I'll be talking to them next week.

They want to translate it into Portuguese

and for it to spread.

That's the number four language in the world by the way.

And I'm hoping for it to spread to other languages,

other countries, though English continues

to be such the dominant language.
