Welcome to Buckets, episode one.

I wanted to open with an NBA related thought that crossed my mind before I had this

podcast. It was game seven of the

Eastern Conference finals, Cav v Celtics, third quarter and Kevin Love is giving an

interview in the tunnel. Made sense that he was in street clothes, he suffered a

pretty brutal concussion two days earlier and any player not

named LeBron James should probably take a game off to recover from something like

that. But it struck me as odd because didn't he want to be watching the game?

I was glued to the TV and I had no dog in the fight.

Kevin Love is on the team and he didn't even seem that eager to get back to the court

watching his team fight for their playoff lives. If you think that's bad, Kyrie Irving wasn't even in the arena at all.

He was getting surgery for a deviated septum that day. What the hell is that?

If I'm a Celtics or Cabs fan, I'm not even going to a wedding during the Eastern Conference finals,

let alone scheduling a nose job.

This guy's the leader of the team, going up against his old squad in game seven for the NBA finals and he's what. At home

binge watching the Americans hoping to snore less, then it hit me. Players on

these teams aren't necessarily fans of these teams.

If you're a diehard Celtics or Caves or Nix or Lakers fan,

you probably love the team more than the players on the team love the team.

Darryl Mori said having a good owner is crucial to organizational success because it's the only job

in the entire company whose priorities align with the fans.
