If we don't have the hope of a resurrection, there's no point in being a Christian.

Well, welcome everyone to the spoken gospel podcast. Thank you so much for joining us. We are continuing our look at the book of First Corinthians. That's right. First Corinthians. Last episode, we kind of did the introduction. We looked at the background. We looked at what it meant to Corintho someone. That's right. To live as a Corinthian, which was just... You know, you know.

If you know, you know, you got to go back and listen.

And we got the setting that basically Corinth was this very diverse, rich city.

You could kind of think, like, Great Gatsby, New York, mixed with Sin City, Vegas, mixed with Beverly Hills.

Yeah.

And it was this melting pot of religion and ideas.

And they were very philosophical and wise in their own eyes.

And they brought all of that into this new baby church that Paul started.

Yes.

And three years have gone by since it was planted.

And they start this like correspondence chain of letters.

Yeah.

And Paul's writing to them about some bad things he's hearing, and the Corinthians clap back with their own letter.

That's right.
