The Whole Council of God. Father Stephen is a former Protestant pastor and Bible teacher in the

Reformed Church, but now an Orthodox priest serving at Archangel Gabriel Orthodox Church

in Lafayette, Louisiana. So verse 10, St. Paul says,

And if Timothy comes, see that he may be with you without fear, for he does the work of the

Lord as I also do. Therefore let no one despise him, but send him on his journey and peace,

that he may come to me, for I am waiting for him with the brethren.

So, St. Timothy, who we know was an associate of St. Paul's, and to whom eventually the epistles of

First and Second Timothy would be written. This Timothy is on his way to where St. Paul is.

St. Paul knows that St. Timothy may be passing through Corinth on the way.

So he says, oh, if St. Timothy comes through, you need to receive him.

Basically, receive him the way you receive me.

He's part of the work that I do. So treat him the way you receive me. He's part of the work that I do. So treat him

the way you treat me and would treat me if he was me. We know that when it talks about not despising

him or him not having any fear, it's actually more him not having any worry. And the despise him would be

more looked down on him. We know from more

information that we gain from First and Second Timothy that St. Timothy was very young. St. Timothy is

actually one of the very first second generation Christians that we know about. We know that St. Timothy, from 1st and 2nd Timothy,

St. Timothy was taught the faith in large part by his mother,

who was herself a follower of Christ.

So he's sort of one of the very early second generation Christians,

but because he's so young and is sort of, but is on his own, sort of making his way
