Well, in chapters 21 and 22, the author of First Chronicles documented a crucial leadership error that cost Israel's 70,000 lives. David ordered a census

incited by Satan. David was curious about the size of his army and perhaps wanted to boast about it.

Pride was the sin and death was the consequence, a plague then descended on Israel and guilt

pierced David. But God was merciful and redeemed the hilltop where

the angel of death stopped. The threshing floor where the grain was separated from the bad

became the temple where God was no longer separated from man through atonement. And on the same hilltop,

hundreds of years later, Jesus Christ paid the price for all atonement. And on the same hilltop, hundreds of years later, Jesus Christ paid the

price for all atonement and ended that separation for all time through faith in him.

All right, the connoissellor is taking the exiles on a journey into their past so that they can

have hope for their future. So far on that journey, David has united Israel under one

king, conquered Jerusalem and made it the capital, defeated Israel's enemies and expanded their territory,

moved the ark to Jerusalem, prepared to build the temple. And lastly, before passing the crown to his son,

David is going to lay out plans for organized worship at the temple. He can only dream of,

because he's not going to get to build it. Click the resume. Yeah, he is. He does. This is the stuff

of Moses, and this is why David is often compared to

Moses. If you were with us in Season 5 of Deuteronomy, you will recall that Moses had an outburst of

instructions in the final four chapters of his life. Both of these men were passionate individuals with a gift for organizational

brilliance. Neither could rest from their work until they had poured the vision for God's plan
