Let's get into our study.

First Chronicles, chapters 14 and 15 tonight.

We're going to do two chapters, Lord willing.

And before we do, let's pray.

We'll ask God's blessing on our time, if you would join with me.

Loving Heavenly Father, we're needing for you at this time, as you're always

so faithful to do, to just settle our hearts and focus our attention so that we can give

you our undivided attention and our time together in your word tonight.

Lord, we desperately need to hear that still small voice of the Holy Spirit as you speak

into our lives in and through your word.

Lord, would you minister to us as you do, we pray in Jesus' name. Amen.

All right, let's jump in, verse 1, chapter 14. Now Hiram, King of Tyre, sent messengers to David

and cedar trees with masons and carpenters to build him a house.

Now again if this is going to start sounding familiar that's because for those of you who

were with us in our study through 1st and 2nd Samuel. This is another account of a period in David's

life as he's, we're going to see tonight, going to be anointed as king over all Israel,

succeeding Saul, and this king of Tyre, this Hiram, we were first introduced to him back in Second Samuel.

It says so, verse 2, David knew that the Lord had established him as king over Israel,

for his kingdom was highly exalted for the sake of His people, Israel.

Then David took more wives in Jerusalem, big mistake, and David begot more sons and daughters.

And these are the names of his children whom he had in Jerusalem.
