Summary

Herb Baumeister was an odd boy who grew up to become a successful, well respected family and business man. Maybe most impressive, Herb achieved his dreams while leading a double life as a gay man, and moonlighting as a prolific serial killer. Part 1. The dream.

0:50.0

The Dream. What is the Dream, basically? To have money, a job that you don't mind going to every day?

1:03.0

That's probably it, but I'm fairly certain that once those basic dream goals are met,

1:09.0

you start really dreaming, going after the things you never really had time to consider.

1:15.0

If I had it all, all the things that would make it seem as though I made it, I know what I would do.

1:21.0

I already have a job that I love, the money will come, I assume, or hope. And now I'm starting

1:27.8

to think about the next thing, the next thing being personal happiness.

1:33.6

Do I have to mention kids in a relationship?

1:35.5

Yes, I have those too, but that track isn't for everyone, so I skipped it.

1:39.5

Let's keep it general.

1:41.6

And for anyone who's accomplished such a feat you'll know that once you sit up top

1:58.1

and celebrate for a bit you start to think about having to head back down and the all-encompassing thought at that point likely is,

2:07.0

how do I continue?

2:09.0

What can I do next that will give me that rush I had on the climb up because slowly making my way

2:14.7

back down this mountain and back to a normal life is depressing as hell, depressing enough

2:19.3

to walk straight off a ledge and take the speedy way down, right on top of my fucking head.

2:25.0

If you do things right, once you conquer a mountain, you then begin to build your own,
