I'm Jill McShehehehe with Journey With Jill.net, and my goal is to give beginning gardeners the how to decide which plants to grow in your garden.

But first, since this is my very first episode, I thought I would tell you a little bit

about myself and my gardening experience. My husband, my two kids and I live in Arkansas. So if you

notice a little bit of a southern accent, that is where it came from. And I have been gardening

for about four years. This will be my fifth season. And I started gardening

with a very specific goal in mind. I had decided that I needed to be home with my children.

I decided to grow a garden to save some money on groceries and also just to contribute to the

general health of our food supply. What I found when I started researching

how to garden is that there were a lot of different resources out there, but I had to trudge through

a lot of verbiage and jargon that I really didn't understand. And I just had to go through a huge

learning curve when it came to learning how to garden.

And what I wanted to do is to be able to give you some tips on gardening that is more at a basic

level. That way, perhaps you won't have to do all the research that I did to get yourself going

in your garden.

Now, I love gardening.

It is something that became a hobby that I do every single year,

and it's something that is not going to go away anytime soon.
