Psalm chapter 59 verses 16 and 17.

But I will sing of your strength.

I will sing aloud of your steadfast love in the morning.

For you have been to me a fortress and a refuge in the day of my distress.

Oh my strength, I will sing praises to you.

For you, O God, are my fortress.

The God who shows me steadfast love.

I love these two verses.

They come at the end of two chapters where there are all kinds of pictures of

the psalmist experiencing unjust attack in this world.

And people coming after him and from all sides in all kinds of ways

and just relentless attack.

And yet over and over and over again, the psalmist is reminding himself to

lift his eyes and look to God in all kinds of ways for wisdom,

for comfort, for protection, for deliverance.

But what I love most about verses 16 and 17 is the way

after all these attacks and how tiring they were,

the psalmist praises God as his strength.

Verse 17 he says, Oh my strength.

And you're probably not looking at the verse,

but strength is a capital S in that verse.
