Psalm 27 verses 4 and 5. One thing I have asked of the Lord,

that will I seek after, that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life,

to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to inquire in his temple, for he will hide me in his

shelter in the day of trouble. He will conceal me under the cover of his tent. He will lift me high

upon a rock. These are some of my favorite verses in all the Psalms, like Psalm 27 verse 4,

one thing I ask of the Lord. This is the one thing I want. I think about it. If you were to

be asked the question, what is the one thing you want from God? What's the one thing you want

from Him? What's the one thing you want most in your life? And this is the Psalmist answer,

that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of

the Lord and to inquire in his temple. Oh, do you get it? This is the one thing we need most,

to be with God, to know God, to see God, to behold God, to gaze upon his beauty and to inquire

in his temple. So follow that. There's so many other things we need in our lives, right? We need

breath. We need water. We need food. We need love and relationships with others. We were

made by God to need all of these things, but don't miss it. God is the fountain from which all of

these things we might need flow. He's the one from whom they all come. And in the reality is,

once we get to a point in our lives where we don't have breath anymore, where our relationships

are gone. This is the one thing we will need. We will need to be with God because he is the source

of eternal life. He's the source of everything good. And so the one thing we need most in our lives

is to gaze upon him, his beauty, to be with him dwell in his house all the days of our lives.

Knowing, so this is why I read verse five two, knowing that he is our refuge in the day of

trouble. He will hide me in his shelter. Conceal me under the cover of his tent, lift me high upon
