We had the passing of Bobby Hall. We should have mentioned it on Monday night sports talk last

night. We did not. Well, surprised you didn't. The golden jet. Tom Burke said, here's my favorite

Bobby Hall story. Several years ago, I was at a Herb Brooks Foundation banquet where Bobby Hall

and Gordy Howe were in attendance, both were on the program to speak, but Howe did most of the

talking as Howe was in decline. Howe told several stories. My favorite was him recalling the time

of Black Hawks representative came to his family home. I suppose Hall was in his late teens.

Hall could still see the representative and Hall's dad sitting at the kitchen table.

Hall's father and the representative talked at some length. Finally, the rep said to Hall's

father, I think we can get this done for 5,000. Hall's father said, I can't afford that.

Maybe Hall made the story up, but it was a good one. See, I could.
