Not as cold as you, apparently, Crystal. Yeah. I'm doing the Emily hands here. Oh, sorry. I haven't really know. Is that like a thing you do normally? I haven't really noticed that. It's when she, as a viewer, I can confirm. It's when she locks in. Oh, really? I just did it accidentally. Well, I... Something I got to be on the lookout for then. I'm learning about myself today. Thank you, Griffin. A lot to look out for on this Friday show, guys. Should we start just with some quick breaking news that came right across our desk? Hop right into it. Yeah, this is a big one. So Don Lemon has been

1:12.3

arrested in L.A. And I just saw this come across Twitter. I don't know if you guys saw the

1:17.0

specifics yet. He was charged with conspiracy to deprive rights. This is in the context of that

1:23.3

church protest that he covered on his live stream.

1:28.5

Saga and I talked about this when it happened.

1:31.3

Go ahead.

1:31.6

Put that back up on the screen, Griffin, because I do want to read a bit from this.

1:36.2

This is the statement from his lawyer, Abby Lull, who's very well known.

1:40.4

He says, Don Lemon was taken into custody by federal agents last night in L.A.

1:43.7

where he was covering the Grammy Awards. Don has been a journalist for 30 years. His constitutionally protected work in Minneapolis was no different than what he has always done. The First Amendment exists to protect journalists whose role it is to shine light on the truth and hold those in power accountable. There is no more important time for people like Don to be doing this work. Instead of investigating the federal agents who killed two peaceful Minnesota protesters, the Trump Justice Department is devoting its time, attention, and resources to this arrest, and that is the real indictment of Romdoing in this case. This unprecedented attack on the First Amendment and transparent attempt to distract attention from the many crises facing this administration will not stand. Don will fight these charges vigorously and thoroughly in court.

2:22.2

Worth noting here, in addition, that they attempted to charge him to get charges filed against

2:27.7

him previously, and the magistrate judge that looked at the charges against Don Lemon and the

2:34.0

charges against, they attempted to

2:35.4

charge eight of the protesters who also came into the building. The judge refused to sign off

2:41.4

on the charges against Don Lemon because he did not feel that there was sufficient evidence presented.
