Genesis chapter 40, verse 23, yet the chief cup bearer did not remember Joseph, but forgot him.

0:15.1

This is a really low end to this chapter. So as a reminder, Genesis chapter 40, Joseph is in prison,

0:26.5

and while he's in prison, he interprets two other prisoners' dreams. The cup bearer of the

0:33.5

king of Egypt and his baker had both been thrown into prison and they both had dreams.

0:41.6

And when Joseph interprets those dreams, he says that the cup bearer is going to be restored

0:49.5

and the baker is going to lose his life.

1:55.8

Have you ever been forgotten by someone else, ignored by someone else, in such a way that

2:04.2

it brought hurt to your life? I'm guessing there's a variety of ways this is played out in

2:12.4

our lives, some in small ways, some in some really significant ways.

2:18.3

And as I read Genesis chapter 40, verse 23, and I know where this story is going,

2:25.3

how God is going to bring Joseph out of prison, he's even going to use the chief cup bearer to do that

2:32.3

after another two whole years in prison.

2:38.0

I just think in a world where people let us down, in a world where we let other people down for that matter,
