Genesis chapter 11, verse 7.

Come, let us go down and there confuse their language

so that they may not understand one another's speech.

So this verse comes after the sin of pride among people, disobedience to God's command,

disobedience to God's command to spread out and multiply across the earth.

People in Genesis chapter 11 are saying, no, let's all stay in this one place.

Let's build a tower up to heaven. And so what we're

seeing here is a total disregard for God's glory, exaltation of man's pride, and then total

disobedience to God's command to multiply and fill the earth, what he has said from the very

beginning of creation. But then we get to verse 7 and we see a picture of the confusion that comes as a result of

man's pride and disobedience.

Come let us go down and they're confused their language so they may not understand one another's speech.

And so we have here in Genesis chapter 11 a picture of different people,

groups speaking different languages that makes relationship with one another

challenging, to say the least, like impossible in many different ways.

You're not able to communicate with one another.

It certainly hinders relationship with one another.

And so today we look around the world and we see all kinds of different languages

that separate people from one another.

as we prayed according to Genesis chapter 10 verse 32 for the spread of the gospel among all nations,
