wow sorry to hear that yeah it's done that to a lot of us another casual team

so a lot of folks in the Armstrong and Getty universe are really passionate about net neutrality

and it's kind of an interesting issue that is a tougher call for a libertarian leaning types

but interesting headline article this morning in the Washington Post written by the fabulous Brian Fung AT&T

wants Congress to draft a net neutrality law and here's why that's a big deal Brian joins us now Brian how are you sir

do not write thanks for having me a surprising headline tell us what's going on

yeah so AT&T put out a big ad campaign yesterday calling on Congress to pass a law on net neutrality

basically to try and stem the supposed you know back and forth that we've been seeing on this issue for you know well over 10 years now

and so this issue is not going away and it's you know really surprising to see AT&T really come out with such a big campaign

well they're calling for an internet bill of rights to help guarantee an open internet what's in the bill of rights or what

would it do for us well you know the main thing on net neutrality is that it would essentially in AT&T's view

you know institute the sort of no blocking and no throttling provisions of the net neutrality rules

that were just struck from the books by the FCC in December but interestingly they go further AT&T wants those same

net neutrality rules also to apply to big tech companies they didn't name names but you know presumably

this would include companies like Facebook and Google as well

sir there are other companies that agree with AT&T are they an outlier

well a lot of big companies in the broadband industry you know the concasts and the AT&T's and the rights of the world

have long said that you know the big tech companies are essentially free writing off of the pipes that AT&T and others make available
