Genesis chapter 1, verse 3.

And God said, let there be light.

And there was light.

Is that not the most amazing verse?

It's so familiar to us if you've read through the Genesis 1 account of creation. It's almost over familiar to hear this refrain over and over and over

again. And God said, let there be light, and there was light. That's

verse 3. Then verse 6, and God said, let there be an expanse in the midst of the waters, and let it

separate the waters from the waters. And God made the expanse, separated the waters that were

under the expanse from the waters that were above the expanse, and it was so. Verse 9, God said, let the waters under the heavens

be gathered together in one place, let the dry land appeared, and it was so. Verse 11, God said,

let the earth sprout vegetation, and it was so. Verse 14, God said, let there be lights in the expanse of

the heavens to separate the day from the night. So this is talking about stars, sun and moon. And it was

so. Verse 20, God said, let the water swarm with swarms of living creatures. And it was so. Then

you get down to verse 26. God said, let us make man in our image after our likeness.

So God created man and woman in his own image, male and female.

He created them.

How did all of these things come into being by the Word of God?

All he did was speak.

Go back to verse 3. God said, let there be light and there was light. Do you

realize the power that is in the spoken word of God? I don't think we do, because if we did, we would open our Bibles every day in complete awe.
