This is CBSI on the world. I'm John Batchel. I welcome Craig Unger, writing a substack,

a story that was once upon a time a centerpiece of American corruption scandal, man by the name of Paul

Manafort in 2016, part of the Trump campaign that was successful that

year. Well, Paul Manafort is back. He has reacquired all of his skill set after spending a few

months in prison, and he is extremely sophisticated about how he operates overseas.

Craig is helping us update this story, and there's something of the fairy tale to it, too,

because good guy does good, good guy does bad, then he does it all over again.

Paul Manafort certainly was part of the success of Donald Trump in 2016, and then he

ran into a buzzsaw of previous relationships he's had as an advisor to overseas leadership,

especially strongman leadership.

And the one that got him in the most trouble is my memory is his

relationship to Ukraine. This is before the understanding of Ukraine is a victim of Russia when

elements of the Ukrainian government were as corrupt as anything you could find on the planet,

especially a man named Yanukovych. But let's begin with Paul Manafort. Born 1949, in other words, I'm dealing with a younger man. Craig, a very

good evening to you. Paul Manafort, born 49, is associated with political consultancy. What does that

mean, especially if you're consulting overseas strong men like Marcos?
