I'm going to be in a few hours if you're listening to this podcast on the day it drops. Last night was Bidikar Khamaetz. What's that? You don't do Bidikar Khamets? I know what it is. I'm trying to like sort of... I was like, wait a minute. Okay, night before Ereveh, Ere of Pesach, the night before Pesach begins, we do Bidikar Khams, which is the ritualized search for the

chammats. It comes after most Jews who observe have already ridded their house of chammets,

of the things that we cannot eat during the eight-day festival. And then we actually, this is how

we always have observed it in my family, hide a few pieces of bread around the house, turn off the lights, and let, uh, when I was a kid, it was my dad.

Nowadays, we take turns, try to find the chummets in each room, the last little bit with a little, uh, feather takes the last pieces of chammats.

It's kind of a search game we used to always do and we still do hot, cold.

So we make it a game of trying to find the chummets.

And then we take it and then this morning we burn it all.

Be your chammets, the burning of those last crumbs of chummits in your house.

So for those who are listening at home, this is not just a Molina family tradition. What Joshua is describing as odd as it might sound with the feather and the candle and the hiding of extra crumbs and the burning. I should have mentioned by candlelight, yes, of course. Well, you said you turn off the lights, so I assume that's what you were implying. That's true. Well, some people think Jews can see in the dark. It comes with weather control. It's the space laser. Our eyes are the space lasers. Exactly. That's what I was thinking. This is something we started doing when my kids were little, and then we stopped doing it. But this year, I insisted that we were going to try it again. It was okay.

Checking for roommates with teenagers who would rather be looking at TikTok. I know. It's funny.

I never grew out of it. I've always loved it. I don't think there was ever a phase I went through

when I didn't enjoy it. And it was really exciting again when my kids were little and my dad, Grampy now, would still
