John chapter 19, verse 30.

When Jesus had received the sour wine, he said, it is finished.

And he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.

These are Jesus' last words in the Gospel of John before he dies on the cross.

Three words, three potent words.

It is finished.

Like, what did John 316 tell us?

God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son.

He sent his one and only son.

He gave his son to die on a cross for our sins, for your sins, for my sins. And Jesus gets to the end.

He is hanging on a cross, enduring the judgment that you and I deserve for our sins, the death we deserve to die. And he says,

it is finished. And he bows his head and gives up his spirit. He dies for you and me. And he says,

that's it. I've paid the price for you. He paid the price for me. He paid the price for me.

He paid the price.

Revelation 5, 9 and 10 says, for men and women from every nation, tribe, and tongue.

It's finished.

He's paid the price for our sins.

And so we pray, Jesus, all glory be to your name for finishing what the Father sent you to do.

We praise you today for dying on the cross for our sins. And we will praise you tomorrow for
