As I understood it would have prevented highway tax dollars to be diverted over to the crony express. Is that true?

Yeah. California a couple of years back decided that it was going to start rating the highway funds, state highway funds to pay the principal and interest payment on the high speed rail bond.

And the legislative analyst office predicts that the principal and interest payment on that on the nine billion dollars will be about 650 million dollars a year for the life of the bond 30 years.

That's almost 20 billion dollars and it is going to be paid for by the gas tax by the truck weight fees by the excise tax on fuel by the increase in your car tax.

And Jerry Brown actually doubled down on this yesterday when he introduced his budget and he basically isn't trying to hide the the the bait and switch anymore out of I think it's four or five billion dollars worth of

gas tax expenditures and because of a new taxation and all of that a huge amount is going to go into not only the high speed rail but also in other rail projects throughout the state of California.

I just say this a highway is not a railroad a railroad is not a highway and we have done unprecedented thing in the state of California which is to take tax money collected for a specific purpose and put into specific

accounts. The state highway fund is where all that money goes and then deciding to take it out and pay for the bonds on a railroad and it will probably exist who probably never exist and it's the technology of the 1850s right well the high speed rail.
