Luke chapter 21 verse 33

heaven and earth will pass away

but my words will not pass. pass away. This comes at the end of a chapter where Jesus is talking about the future,

it's talking about wars and persecution

and challenges coming for everyone who is a follower of Jesus,

talking about how we need to be ready for the day when he returns and in

verse Jesus says heaven and earth will pass away.

In other words, everything we see around us

is temporary.

But my words will not pass away.

The words of Jesus are not temporary.

The words of Jesus are eternal. So just let this verse encourage you today, let this verse challenge you today,

let this verse challenge you today, compel you today to open up the Bible and to read the word of God knowing that what

you have in front of you lasts forever. The word of God is eternal to quote from

Isaiah chapter 40 the grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of God stands forever.

Jesus is saying the same thing your heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away. So memorize God's word, hide it in your heart,

study God's word, meditate on God's word, read God's word, soak it in, obey God's word.

Like when we do God's word, when we obey what God has said, we are banking our lives on that which is eternal, on that which lasts forever.

Don't live according to the ideas, philosophies of this world that will

pass away. Live according to the word of God that will never pass away.

Oh God, we praise you for your word. We praise you for the gift that it is to us for the
