It will be somewhat different than the prayer that opened Congress.

I'll get to that in a moment.

May the mayor lift up the light of logic upon us and give us common sense.

Peace in our families may there be moral integrity across this land, and dare we ask, oh

Lord, peace even among those living along the third rail.

We ask at the name of all that is logical and that is grounded in common sense.

That is known to many different faiths as remains true to us all.
