Psalm, chapter 134 verses 1 and 2, come, bless the Lord, all you servants of the Lord, who stand by night in the house of the Lord.

Lift up your hands to the Holy Place and bless the Lord. What a powerful picture. This is another one of these

Psalms of a sense, which means God's people would sing this together as they would gather together in Jerusalem

for a feast or for a festival of worship.

And the whole picture here is them just calling on another,

come, bless the Lord, all you servants to the Lord,

then it specifies all you who stand by night

in the house of the Lord. You start to think about imagery we see in different places in the

Psalms. Think Psalm 84, like doorkeepers in the house of God. There at the temple where God's glory in his presence

powerfully dwelled in the middle of his people.

And those who stood day and night

there by the house of the Lord just constantly thinking about

the glory of God, the presence of God among his people constantly living like at the place of worship.

And again, this is one of those places we just can't leave this in the Old Testament because we know that Jesus has made a way for you and I to have access to God wherever we are through his blood on the cross shed for us that we don't

go to a place of worship, that we are the place of worship that we stand day and night in his presence, encountering his glory.
