Psalm chapter 132 verses 6 and 7.

We found it in the fields of jar let us go to his dwelling place

Let us worship at his footstool

So this is a song of a sense which means that this is a song that God's people would

sing as they would come together in Jerusalem for a feast or a festival. They would come to Jerusalem to the temple for worship.

And this whole psalm is about how David had vowed as king to construct a house for God's glory to dwell in and

how God had told David that his son Solomon would actually construct that house but David's desire

was to see the glory in the presence of God dwelling among his people in a place where people could encounter his glory and worship him.

Now this is one of those places where we want to be careful not to leave this picture

in the Old Testament because we know that based on what Jesus has done on the cross for us, he's opened the door.

Remember when he died on the cross, the curtain of the temple was torn into and the way was made open for us to come into the presence of God to

be restored to a relationship with God to encounter the glory of God through what Jesus has done on the cross for us.

So we don't have to go to a building in Jerusalem or really a building anywhere

in order to encounter the presence of God and encounter the glory of God.
