Today, we are joined

in a studio by UK Big Carp legend, Darrell Peck, and we're going to be talking about his pursuit

of some of the biggest wild carp in the world. Now, mate, I remember being at Corder around the time

that this all sort of started to sort of, to germinate in your mind,

if you like, this idea that you, I think anyway, that you couldn't find the challenges

you were looking for on these shores. Is that right?

Not just the challenges. Obviously, that is an element of it, but the space, that was one of the things.

I wanted, like, more room to be competing more against the lake than the anglers.

So more, what's the word you would use?

Not, like, authentic, but like...

Pure, like a more pure sort of pursuit.

Yeah, pure pursuit of big carp that other people hadn't had in their hands as such that I hadn't seen rather than trying to recreate someone else's story which is the UK dream of like you go and pick a fish you try and catch it having done that for a few years, I just, I wanted something bigger, like bigger fish,

bigger lake, and less people.

And actually, the context of that is that you had been doing all that.

You had been the ultimate competitor.

You know, you'd been someone who was going toe to toe with really,

really top anglers, week in, week out on a lot of the venues you fished.
