There was no girl surfers in Morning of the Earth, but I guess he maybe had a vision of myself

sort of drawing some pure lines and he thought that, yeah, I'd sort of suit the project.

So Andrew was the connection there and he's that, yeah, I'd sort of suit the project. So Andrew was the connection there, and he's done an incredible job.

His latest film project, Spirit of Akasha, caught my attention last year when it was released,

mainly because the concept was just so interesting.

I'd followed Andrew since his surf film was released about 20 years ago now, actually.

It was called Litmus.

And I saw it when I was 16 years old,

and it really challenged my paradigm of what surfing was and what it could be.

For me at that time, I was basically, all of my surfing experience was based on Kelly Slater

and his friends writing super thin surfboards and

Taylor Steel movies. And so Kidman's litmus showed surfers writing more foam in cold, non-tropical,

harsher conditions. And it represented a more ethereal surfing experience, less competitive

and much more personal, to be honest.

So when I saw Andrew's name attached to this new film project, Spirit of Akasha, I was

interested. And again, the concept is what hooked me. It's an homage and celebration of Albi

Falzon's Morning of the Earth. Akasha is almost a shot-for-shot remake of

Morning of the Earth. And not only did Kidman direct the film, but he also produced the soundtrack,
