I am joined today by the great Dominican Scholastic and thinker Father Gregory

Maria Pine. I don't know why I use the word scholastic then. That could make people think that maybe

you're a Jesuit in formation or something. It was feeling sort of scholarly. We're going to talk about some

scholastic things today, scholasticism?

Yes, those are all true things.

When I hear scholasticism, I think of like time periods.

Oh, sorry.

I should have waited for the direct question so that way I could have respond to it like a normal human being.

Instead, I'll just run roughshod.

Oh that's a great point yeah.

Elementary school book fairs.

And also I associate in some way with those little like certificates that you would get at school and then if you read X number of books they'd like put a little stamp on it and then you could take it to Pizza Hut and get a free

personal pan pizza. I think that was also associated with the Scholastic Book Fair,

all of which is good news because reading should taste like 800 calories per

slice. Yeah, no I think about time periods specifically like 12th
