Every teacher has experienced some level of burnout. The pains, stressors, and overwhelming demands that come with being an educator can take its toll after a period of time; and to help you understand this a little better we want to share some statistics with you: 41.3% of new teachers leave the profession within the first 5 years 66% of teachers want to leave their job while 36.4% are likely to quit 15% of teachers in the U.S. leave the profession every year (Alliance for Excellent Education) After hearing those statistics, the next question that popped into your head is probably why. Why are so many teachers leaving or wanting to leave the profession? In this episode we want to dissect teacher burnout by sharing our journey with burnout. I had two thoughts. Thought number one. Do you think people would notice during our intro if I said,
