Summary

I am so grateful that my main man Sylvester McNutt took the time to talk us through this incredibly difficult topic—as it is happening right now in the United States. I cannot think of a more generous, loving and insightful soul to begin this conversation with. Sylvester walks us through his life in so many ways, the history, the suffering, the love and the connections. He calls us forward to do the work required to truly connect. There are so many gaps in our awareness and so many complications that we must step toward to resolve. I hope you will all answer this call with me and join us as we dive deeper in coming weeks. It's about humanity.

0:42.1

It's about, you know, as I explore this subject, I want to walk you through some of my thought processes

0:48.9

because I think it's important for other people to hear the internal dialogue of someone who, you know, like this idea

0:56.6

that I'm afraid you might judge me.

0:58.3

Of course, I am because I'm human.

1:00.6

And I ask for your grace that I might get the wrong words in the wrong order.

1:04.2

And that's ultimately what gets in the way of speaking out for white people in general

1:10.2

is that we're afraid of not being seen as nice

1:13.4

or not being liked by our family if we stand up for this or being berated or made fun of

1:17.5

or being seen as virtue signaling when when this comes from a heart-centered space it is expansive

1:24.7

it is healing to acknowledge what is occurring in the world, to acknowledge the

1:29.1

pain and suffering of different groups of people, and especially currently in the spotlight

1:37.0

of the world, the suffering of black people. And it's interesting because I was thinking,

1:42.1

like, we're going to continue to have this conversation

1:44.5

about Black Lives Matter and I thought oh my gosh like this the fact that we have to continue
