Summary

Before retiring Sgt. Major Frank Grippe was the senior enlisted Soldier for US Central Command in charge of military operations in 20 countries in Northern Africa, Central Asia and the Middle East. He came out of the subzero weather of the Spartan Agoge to share his wisdom of grit hard earned through his 30 years as a ranger in the army. His is decidedly a no nonsense approach. Grippe knew what he wanted and simply did the job day in and day out, learned all he could from the best mentors he could find and when the opportunities to advance presented themselves, he was ready. He has gone through life with a single minded purpose and one might come away with the impression that he hasn’t entertained the idea of an alternative livelihood, even for a second.

Lessons:
1. Knowing exactly what you want makes getting it that much easier.
2. Force of will is everything.
3. Positions of responsibility demand complete transparency.

0:14.1	and 10 special forces and some other great units were entering at Memorial Day
0:18.4	weekend that time of the year where all Americans take a moment and recognize those sacrifices of our U.S. service

0:25.6	And I think it's important that Spartan race all we employees, you know, amplify that fact.
0:30.5	And we take a moment and we recognize those Americans over the years who have rose a right hand to support and defend the Constitution
0:37.0	United States, travel overseas and defense of freedom and made that ultimate sacrifice.
0:42.0	And for everybody out there, make sure if you ever see a service member, thank them for their service.
0:47.0	We would not have Spartan race if it wasn't for the military.
0:51.0	We probably wouldn't have a lot of things that we
0:54.0	currently have. It wasn't for the military. So thank Frank, thank Colonel
