We're beginning with the ninth Ayah of Solitoshams,

Kada Aflaha, Man Zakaha.

Previously in the same series of Suras we've read,

Kadaaflahaman, the Zaka, Wada Karas,

Rabihi, Fazhala, a few words of reminder

as far as vocabulary is concerned.

The word kad in the Arabic language is used for two reasons.

One to illustrate a statement that is already the case.

So for example, if you say kadharaja,

it would mean he already left.

He already left.

So whatever is about to be stated is already the case.

Another implication of the word kad in the Arabic language is certitudes, absolute certainty.

So it's sort of like the function of innna that many of you are familiar with, certainly.

So the two implications are there, certainly and already.

Now, afflaha. are there, certainly, and already.

Now, Aflaha.

Aflaha is translated, commonly he succeeded.

He succeeded.
