Good morning, and welcome to Kid News! I'm Tori. It's Tuesday, September 20, 2022, and

0:07.2

we begin with Lights Out for one of the most famous attractions in the world. The Eiffel

Tower in Paris usually stays illuminated until one in the morning, but starting this Friday,

0:18.7

those lights will shut off at 11.45pm to conserve electricity. Like most of Europe, France

is facing rising energy costs due largely to the war in Ukraine and Russia cutting its gas

an 88-year-old woman who records audiobooks for the blind, a man who led an effort to save his

1:33.6

local soccer club, and a lawyer who offered free assistance to people who needed it during the

1:38.8

pandemic. The lawyer, Pranev Banat, told the New York Times he was shocked to receive the invitation,

1:44.6

but to him, the mix of guests at the funeral reflected the Queen's character and her ability to

1:50.3

connect with everyday people. Packing for a long trip can be hard, especially when you're going

1:57.7

millions of miles in outer space, because if you forget something or need a replacement,

2:02.8

you can't exactly turn around and go home to get it. But researchers at Washington State University
