And we begin with Ukraine making gains and Russia in retreat.

While the war is likely far from over, there appears to be a big shift in military momentum.

Ukrainian forces have recaptured more than 1,000 miles of their homeland in the east, now

outnumber their counterparts 8-1 and have even made it to the Russian border.

Russia is now trying to downplay the setback as strategic regrouping, but the weakening

Russian defenses are sparking rare public criticism from that country's commentators.

And according to CNN, even some calls from some Russian officials for President Vladimir

Putin to resign.

In a telegram post, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky warned Moscow that history

will put everything in its place.

The tennis was great, but the sportsmanship even better in the finals of the U.S. open

this weekend.

19-year-old Carlos Alcaraz of Spain captured his first Grand Slam Championship and is the youngest

player ever to top the world rankings.

But his opponent, Norwegian Casper Rudd, also found his way to the spotlight and for all

the right reasons.

Early in the match with Alcaraz serving, Rudd appeared to have won an opening point, but

Rudd told the umpire the ball actually bounced twice before he hit it and the point should

go to Alcaraz.

Rudd's honesty was cheered by the crowd at Arthur Ashe Stadium and the 23-year-old went

on to win the next two points and many Twitter accolades, including one from a fan who said,
