The anniversary of one of the most important and impactful days in US history.

This morning Bell's will toll and names will be read at the Trade Center Memorial

Pools, the Pentagon and in a field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania.

And tonight in Lower Manhattan the annual tribute in light will shine skyward.

It consists of 88 vertical search lights arranged in two columns to represent the twin towers.

If the night is clear they will be visible within a 60 mile radius from dusk this evening until dawn tomorrow. Space X's riskiest mission to date is off the ground.
