So, you know, we were doing the show on this day 18 years ago and we will do the tribute and you will hear and see some of the moments that none of us will ever forget. I hope we don't forget.

18 years ago and we'll take you through that. You'll hear our reaction as it happened. We do this. I think we've done it just about every year for the last 18 years.

It's also for those of you that hear the national anthem that starts the big show meaning the part when the whole team is together. That started as you know as something we started doing after the attack.

So we've been doing that for 18 years but that's what it originally was a tie was tied to and and Bubba I can I remember that day pretty vividly.

Yeah, you know we and I was speaking about it earlier we were in a different studio at the time technology wasn't near what it is today we had a little bit TV over in the corner and I don't even know if we had it on that morning to begin with.

But I know after we had preyed around and we were talking about the weather he said hey if you're seeing what's going on in New York City applying or something has hit one of the world trade centers and that's when we either cut it on or start paying attention to it one of the other but thinking nothing about I mean we thought about it but we thought it was a personal craft or something like that.

We were just a helicopter or something you know we really didn't know what it was and while we were talking to him the other one hit and we saw it live on the air and then we knew man we got something going on here and you know immediately you think who who is doing this and of course you're here in the in the great great little bit that speedy added together different things and there's different theories being kicked about but you know at that minute at that moment I'm thinking that I'm going to be able to do that.

I'm thinking how many planes are out there and you know then report start coming in of other planes being hijacked and you know the administration at that time did several things I thought was very smart they grounded everything and they also got money into all the banks so people started trying to withdraw money there was plenty of money and it didn't create a run on the banking system.

So there was some things that were done that you would like to seem be done better that day but there also was some things done that were very smart that day I think the big thing because in the era we were in the end the thought was that if you're on a plane it's hijacked just give them what they want give them the money they'll let everybody go and then law enforcement contract them down later well that all changed.

I mean I don't think anyone had any idea that someone would hijack a plane and use it as a weapon I mean that wouldn't even on the radar so to speak.

No, never heard of didn't know it I remember that you hear that some of that coming together in the beginning but you'll hear you know because we're we're we don't know what's going on and I remember when it finally sunk in I the thing I remember the most was when it finally sunk in that we are under attack.

Because you know they changed the day change because I remember you know I've seen stuff from World War II and what it was like for people to be in Europe and the Germans started bombing them and I mean you know it's one thing and it's sad it's horrible what happened at Pearl Harbor but that was a military you know attack when you think about these people in World War II that you're in the street where you live or go to work bombs are coming down and see we've never experienced that here and you know I'm not sure if you're going to be able to do that.

And you know the lower 48 I mean just just never happened right and and I hope it never happens again but when you realize oh wait a minute we have some people attacking us here and to Bubba's point of minute ago and you got no idea how many planes are start about to start crashing into everything.

And and there really will never know how many would have we certainly know that that flight 93 that we know that one was headed for trouble in their speculation it was somewhere in Washington whether it was the White House or the Capitol and we know that is a fact but and those people say no telling how many lives while losing their own but there there's also you know you don't know how many just when they set them down the terrorists just got off the plane and stuff okay we said I'm a discolour we did we never got we never got it you know I'm a son.
