Today is Thursday, September 10th, 2020 and we begin with the biggest county in the

U.S. answering the COVID question on the mind of every

costume and candy loving kid. What about Halloween?

Originally the Los Angeles Health Department wanted to cancel trick-or-treating outright, but after outrage from parents

decided to simply advise against it. Officials say it's just too difficult to

maintain proper social distancing on porches and at front doors.

Also on the please don't list, trunk or treating.

That relatively new parking fad of decorating cars

and filling up the trunk with sweets.

Still not permitted under any circumstances in Los Angeles,

haunted houses, carnivals, and parties with anyone besides family.

There's no word yet if other cities will follow suit.

If you live in the West, yesterday might have felt a little like Halloween,

or maybe the beginnings of a zombie apocalypse, ash and smoke from the dozens of

wildfires raging throughout California, Oregon, and Washington blocked the sun and

turned day into night.

And towns that weren't pitched into darkness,

instead found themselves surrounded by an eerie,

burnt orange glow.

Social media is loaded with hard to believe photos, but some iPhone users complain that their

device couldn't do the crazy color justice.
