All right, Oregon. Oh, God, I love Oregon.

Oregon in many ways is actually more liberal than California, which is kind of hard to believe.

And Oregon was in one of the early, early states that passed not only medical marijuana but recreational marijuana use in

California marijuana is straight out legal their dispensaries Oregon has the

same thing now what Oregon did and no other state did this was that they

decriminalized hard drugs whoa now decriminalization, when you talk about that, you're not selling it.

You're using very small amounts of it, clearly for personal use. And it was decriminalized. That's it.

You can't get tagged.

Now, you can still get a ticket, but it wasn't considered a criminal act.

Well, they turned that one around.

Yeah, yeah, we're done.

Oregon legislatures reassessed the law and said,

no, we're gonna again make it a misdemeanor

to possess any amount of drugs outside of cannabis.

And the people who supported the measure originally

said that it was to help people instead of just handcuffing folks. And when we talk about

handcuffing, they were talking about with a conviction, there is a stigma of arrest. And with a conviction,

even of a misdemeanor, a misdemeanor,anor which shows up it's harder to get a job it's

harder to find a place to live it is not fun getting a conviction of any kind and so what they did is

made it a ticket and now if a employer does a background check and you got a ticket who cares if an employer does a background check

and you have a conviction even a misdemeanor that's a big deal that was the original reason

why they decriminalized it well and they turned that around that's all uh they said um nah
