Julie majored in American Studies at Stanford University and studied law at Harvard.  She practiced law in the Bay Area in the 1990s before returning to Stanford to serve in various roles including Dean of Freshmen.  In 2010 she received the university’s Lloyd W. Dinkelspiel Award for “creating the atmosphere that defines the undergraduate experience.” She is the author of the best-selling book, “How To Raise An Adult – Break Free Of The Overparenting Trap And Prepare Your Kid For Success.”

Ryan, I believe in all of us. I believe in all humans. And for that reason, I tend to root for the underdog. I tend to root for those whom life has dealt a difficult hand. And I believe there's goodness in all of us.
