Hey guys, how's it going? Scott here and I'm back with another episode of the SBL podcast.

And today we've got an awesome bass player who actually lives, well, kind of down the road.

Kind of down the road. His name is Daniel Pete and he recently graduated from the Royal Northern College of Music here in the UK, obviously, which is just over in Manchester, which is, I don't know,

like a 40 minute, 45 minute drive from Leeds. So yeah, so he's a local guy almost. And it was

while Dan was actually studying at the Royal Northern College of Music that he founded his trio,

which are called flightless birds, with his fellow students, guitarist Alex Dineen and John Needham on drums.

You've got to check these guys out.

I've just been checking them out a few minutes ago and absolutely loving it.

They've just got a really great vibe.

And I also want to give a shout out to Stefan Retenbacher as well from the SPL faculty

because he brought these guys to our attention.

Stefan was actually called in to assess some of the musicians from the Royal Northern College of

Music and after seeing these guys play, he was on the phone straight away to make sure that we

checked them out.

So essentially we could let you guys check them out too.

And they've been described really is a cross between

Pat Mathini, battles, and even square pusher. And they even had some tutelage from Michael

League and Snarky Puppy Puppy as well. So we're going to find out all about that in this

podcast and everything else they've got going on. So I'm going to hand you over to Nick and this
