Summary

It can be so hard to know what to say and how to offer support to someone who has lost a child or who has experienced trauma of any kind. Tasha Clifford is a mom to four sons. Her oldest, Morgan, died last year from brain cancer. In this episode, we have a very intimate and raw conversation with her about grief, pain, loss, and trauma. Tasha shares why we need to get past saying, “Let me know if you need anything,” and just act. This eye-opening conversation will help you be more conscious of the things you say and do around those who are suffering. This is Cultivated Good Life, episode 87, grief, pain, loss, trauma, with Tasha Clifford. Hello everybody I am Becky Higgins. My friend and co-host is Becky Proud Fit and she is with us in this episode

0:28.1

but not for this very short little brief moment as I introduce and kick off this episode and I think we can

0:34.0

just blame that on hashtag pandemic problems we are logistically not able to get

0:39.7

together quite as regularly and as often as we usually are and so here we are

0:45.4

quarantine and I am kicking off this episode but don't you worry this is a

0:49.8

recorded conversation that we had with our new friend,

0:53.6

and as you listen shortly,

0:57.7

you'll be able to hear how we know her,

1:00.1

how we connected, and why we have invited her to be a part of this ongoing conversation about cultivating a good life and man you guys

1:07.3

you will feel so connected to what tasha is sharing right now in this season of a worldwide pandemic and

1:15.9

everything that a whole lot of us if not all of us are feeling grief and pain and

1:21.4

loss and trauma are a thing.

1:24.0

What's interesting is that this conversation

1:28.2

was recorded right before everything

1:31.4

hit the fan in the United States.

1:33.0

And so as she speaks to grief and pain and loss and trauma

1:38.2

in a different context, what we all know and understand

1:41.9

and believe is that grief is grief, pain is

1:45.4

pain, loss is loss, right? Like we all know this and so the episode, this

1:51.2

conversation even though it is not pandemic specific necessarily, you will feel exactly what you need to feel for yourself and hopefully on a very personal level.

2:05.9

So we're really, really honored to not just share this conversation with you, but to have a new friendship with a woman, Tasha, that we are so

2:16.3

grateful to know and so grateful to learn from. So honored to share that with you. We'll
