Summary

Imagine being able to convert any car into an EV! That's right, convert your gas car into an electric vehicle - an electric restomod!

You could convert a 1966 Mustang, a 1981 Delorean, or even my personal favorite, a 1961 Jaguar E-type! Get off fossil fuels while increasing your performance and reliability!

In this episode I got to talk with Pete Williamsen of Electric GT. Electric GT is making electric conversions even easier than a traditional motor swap... Pull the stock engine, cooling, fuel tank, exhaust, and bolt in an electric motor to the factory drivetrain.

Join Pete and I in this episode as we discuss how the conversion process works, how long it takes, how you can keep your manual transmission, if you can DIY a conversion, where the batteries and charging port go, along with expected power and range!

*This episode is not sponsored by Electric GT. I just discovered them, thought they were doing cool stuff, and invited them the show to learn more.

So it's super cool. This isn't sponsored by them. I just found Electric GT and was super stoked on what they were doing and excited to hear about it. So Pete's going to share all of what they're doing.

We're going to talk about

how the conversion works, how you drop it in, how it fits with your transmission, how you sort of

1:00.2

have a manual electric vehicle, which is pretty crazy and awesome. The conversion process, the

1:05.8

timeline, the batteries, where the batteries go, how the charging works, where the charging port goes, the power, the range, favor builds, future stuff. It's crazy. So let's get to the episode. Here is Pete from Electric GT. All right. We're rolling. What's up, Pete?

1:25.3

drivable.

1:52.7

So our big objective is repowering these things instead of, you know, somebody buying a Tesla, why not just take that old Mustang
